March For Ukraine

  • Ukrainian American Community Center 301 Northeast Main Street Minneapolis, MN, 55413 United States (map)

The courage of the Ukrainian people has shocked the Kremlin. Putin’s invasion was presented as a three-day operation with Ukrainian forces collapsing under Russian pressure. Nearly 3 weeks later, the Blue and yellow flag is still flying above Kyiv. Unnerved, Putin’s fascist regime has resorted to committing war crimes. We feel many different EMOTIONS and we ask you to join us to stand up to a bully and give a voice to the voiceless. Ukrainian children should not be trembling from Russian bombs. We will stand for justice and STOP Putin’s reign of terror. We will celebrate the indomitable Ukrainian spirit that is spreading throughout the world.
Part 1: SORROW
We will march from the Ukrainian Cultural Center to Nicollet Mall. We will stage a die-in (lie-in) to say that world leaders can not ignore war crimes and display our sorrow for the suffering of innocent Ukrainians.
Part 2: COURAGE
We will protest with courage. We will demand planes and air defense capabilities so that Russian rockets can no longer indiscriminately bomb our children.
Part 3: LOVE
What Putin fears most is the collective strength of humanity. We will teach Ukrainian dances and songs, and we will share our love for the beauty of Ukrainian culture. Putin thought he could erase Ukrainian identity. Instead we will celebrate it and spread joy around the world.
